Gourmet Grilled Cheese

I n g r e d i e n t s :

Bread (sourdough is my preference)

Garlic compound butter
-
½ stick butter
-
2 cloves garlic
-
1 tsp parsley, finely chopped
-

Brie cheese
-
American cheese
-
Cheddar cheese
-
Parmesan cheese
-
Sliced tomato
-
Caramelized onions
Steps:

To make your garlic compound butter, leave half a stick of butter out to soften (or put in the microwave for 10 seconds). With a fork, smash and mix two cloves of garlic and 1 tsp of parsley until smooth.

Spread a generous amount of the garlic butter onto one side of each slice of bread.

On the non-butter side, spread dollops of brie, and then add 2-3 slices of each cheese.

Heat a skillet on medium-low heat and place one slice of bread butter down.

Cover with a lid and leave for 30 seconds.

Add warm caramelized onions and tomato before checking the bottom of the bread. If it’s golden brown, then place the final slice of bread on top and flip then recover. If not, recover, wait another 15 seconds, and check again.

Once the other side has finished cooking, turn off the heat and place the grilled cheese onto a plate. Serve warm.
